The 2011 Home Goals

I haven't posted much about our house yet over here, but here is a slight glimpse into it.  I'm sure I will blog much more about it as the year goes on {hey, maybe that should be a goal of mine too!}.   Nester challenged us to post our home goals for the year. I'm not super fast at home improvement projects, so it will be interesting to see if I actually get these done this year. But I really hope to. Our house is getting to the stage where things are getting old enough to fall apart ~ things definitely need to be replaced and updated in a few areas ~ like the carpets {they're getting so old that the spots don't stay out even after you clean them}, and rooms need to be repainted and freshened up.   So here we go, here are a few of my 2011 home goals:

Backyard Patio Spruce Up:

1.  Fix the middle window planter

2.  Fix the raised planter beds
{so dirt doesn't run out with the water}

3.  Hook up the drip system to the pots

4.  Figure out some fabulous edible landscaping
{to create my potager}

Master Bedroom:

1. Tv {and playstation} have been removed {Yippee!}

2.  Need new arrangement / vignette for top of dresser

3.  New creamy yellow paint to match
both winter and summer bedding

Update the Teen's Room

1.  Remove loft bed
2.  Rearrange furniture
3.  New bedskirt and pillows

Update the Toddler's Room:

1.  Put loft bed in and create a fort / clubhouse
Crib is gone already {just don't have updated pics}

2.  Organize all the toys!

Update Family Room:

1.  New curtains that are a little more "hip"
{sorry honey, they're just a little too traditional for me!}
2.  Possibly plantation shutters?

And the projects that probably won't happen this year
{but here's to hoping!}:
1.  Finish the basement

2.  Built-in cabinetry for the study

3.  Built-in bookshelves for the living room
