Of Superheroes . . . and Ninja's!



In an effort to get my non-athletic rather brilliantly bookish daughter to move her body and get some exercise {like we all need!} I have been searching high and low to find something that would appeal to her.  She loves all things asian so I thought, hmmm....martial arts maybe?

When it comes to martial arts there are all sorts of different things you could try...karate, obviously.  But there are lots of other options out there like Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Jiu Jitsu and so on.  In the end we've decided on trying out Qi Gong.   

I mean, who doesn't want a "body made of steel...wrapped in cotton"?  And you've got to admit, the idea of an "iron shirt" sounds pretty cool, right?  It's the stuff of superheroes...and ninja's! This is what the ancient traditions of qi gong can do for you {supposedly ~ haven't tried it yet!} along with creating vibrant health.  Sign me up!

The cool thing is we can learn it right in our living room.  {Good thing too because I don't think I can find anywhere that teaches this locally in my neighborhood!}  And there are quite a few dvd's out there for beginners which is great because that  means she can have quite a few different options in her own little workout library so she doesn't get bored watching the same ol' one every time.
